What we're looking for

We want voices that sound like real people talking — not voice actors, not podcasters, not announcers. Think: how you'd sound on a phone call with a coworker, or chatting with a friend.

Clear voices in any accent or age group (18+). You can record on a decent phone in a quiet room — no professional gear required for casual/conversational voice work.

This is the natural, unperformed style we're after. Notice the casual pacing, the small filler words, the way the energy rises and falls without effort. If your normal speaking voice sounds something like this, you're a fit.

We're not a fit if you're a working voice actor. Trained voice talent is excellent at performance — but performance is exactly what we're trying to avoid. We screen voice-over experience out at the application stage.

Common questions

How much do I get paid?

Payment depends on the project, voice match, and audio quality. Typical range is $100–$300 for a complete, approved submission. We'll confirm the exact amount before you record the full 30 minutes.

Is this perpetual? Can I take it back?

Yes — by signing the release you grant us perpetual, irrevocable rights to license your voice recordings and any AI models trained from them. This is what makes the one-time payment possible. Please read the agreement carefully before signing.

Will my real name be attached to the AI voice?

No. Your name stays in our records for licensing and payment purposes only. The AI voices we license are not labeled with your identity.

What equipment do I need?

A modern smartphone (iPhone or Android from the last 4 years) is enough for Scene 2 / conversational voice work. Record in a quiet room, away from fans, traffic, and music.

Do I need to read a script?

No. We actually prefer unscripted, natural speech. We'll send you conversation prompts — things you can talk about freely for a couple of minutes each.

Can I submit existing audio I already have?

Yes, often. If you have clean recordings of yourself from Zoom calls, podcasts, or voice memos, we can sometimes use those. Mention it in the form.

Voice Sample Release and License Agreement

By signing below, you grant the Company a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use your voice recordings to train AI voice models, generate synthetic speech outputs, and to sublicense those outputs to third parties including Fish Audio and other AI voice platforms.

You waive any right to inspect, approve, or control how your recordings or synthetic outputs are used, and you waive any right to royalties, residuals, or future compensation beyond the one-time payment agreed at the time of submission.

You retain ownership of your natural human voice. The Company owns all recordings, AI models, synthetic outputs, datasets, and derivative works.

You represent that you are at least 18 years old, that the voice you are submitting is your own, that you are not impersonating anyone, and that you have the legal right to grant this license. You release the Company and its partners and sublicensees from claims related to publicity, privacy, defamation, or commercial use of voice likeness.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
